The City of Elgin will debut the Elgin Civil War Experience on Saturday & Sunday, June 10 & 11, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the property adjacent to 600 S. State Street in Elgin. The public is invited to experience 1863 by participating in many camp activities and watching battles reenactments both days.

Imagine a weekend full of reenactments of Civil War soldier camps and civilian life, Civil War era merchandise, local food vendors, live skirmishes, living history, Union and Confederate encampments and medical field operations. Saturday will feature the Battle of Ft. Donelson, Tenn. and Sunday battle of Milikens' Bend, La. For more information visit www.cityofelgin.org and the Facebook page for the event.
