Betsey Means portrays educated pioneer woman Juliette Magill Kinzie, a writer and historian, who married John Kinzie in 1830, lived in Wisconsin at Fort Winnebago and move to Chicago in 1834. In 1844, she wrote the Narrative of the Massacre at Chicago, an account of the Fort Dearborn massacre she compiled from firsthand accounts of the Kinzie family.
