480 REGENT STREET
HISTORIC SIGNIFICANCE
480 Regent Street was built in 1940 for Raymond M. Miller and his wife and is considered a significant property to this historic district.
ARCHITECTURAL SIGNIFICANCE
480 Regent was designed in the Cape Cod, Style, a sub-category of Colonial Revival Style which enjoyed popularity from 1880 through 1955. Typical characteristics of this style include its gabled dormers found atop a side gabled roof, the accentuated front door and its multi-pane glazing in both sashes. The side gabled sub-type makes up about 30 percent of Colonial Revival homes and was widely built after the 1930s.
This home received a Historic Rehabilitation Grant in 2015 and brought back missing features such as the multi-paned picture windows seen at the front. The owners at the time sensitively restored the home by matching a historic photograph.
