406 ADAMS STREET
HISTORIC SIGNIFICANCE
406 Adams was built in 1926 by George W. Brown for his son, Earl, and wife, Maretta Brown.
ARCHITECTURAL SIGNIFICANCE
406 Adams Street is a one-story bungalow with a hipped roof and gabled porch roof and is a documented Sears Home, model: Josephine. The simple, modest detailing characterizes the style and increased the affordability of homes to a broader range of Americans.
Modifications include installation of aluminum siding over the original narrow clapboard siding with cornerboards.
