ARCHITECTURAL SIGNIFICANCE
The Charles and Louise Schmidt home is of the Free Classic sub-type of the Queen Anne style and is considered a contributing structure in this area. It displays an irregular steeply pitched roof with a dominant front gable along with a full width, one-story, asymmetrical porch that extends along one side wall. This home is simple however, its classic columns with Doric capitals and pediment roof above the entrance adds unique characteristics to this home. Another unique detail to this home is the double-arched windows found centrally located at the front gable.
