CENTRAL PARK

HISTORIC SIGNIFICANCE

Central Park is a steeply sloped park that offers amazing views of the Fox River and of downtown Elgin. It was donated by local philanthropist, George P. Lord and his wife, Mary, in 1905. The Lords were a religious couple and said that their many charitable gifts were an extension of their faith.
