HISTORIC SIGNIFICANCE
152 S. Aldine was built in 1929 for Frank E. Kienle by Charles Voss & Sons for a cost of $5,000. As noted in Rebecca Hunter’s “Elgin, Illinois Sears House Research Project,” Frank worked at the Baking and Ice Cream Company.
ARCHITECTURAL SIGNIFICANCE
152 S. Aldine Street is a nice example of a stepped gable front bungalow with return eaves and gable front side dormer. The home is one-and-a-half stories with a brick facade and shingle siding at the dormer and gable areas. The home is a confirmed Sears, Roebuck and Company home - model - Columbine.
